Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for one of our clients’ that is a banking institution based in Islamabad, Pakistan. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in retail banking, demonstrated leadership in large-scale digital transformation projects, and a strong understanding of regulatory frameworks. This role demands a strategic thinker with a proven track record of executing business strategies and driving organizational success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review, refine, and execute the bank’s strategic plans.
• Provide visionary and strategic leadership to ensure the bank achieves its short and long-term objectives.
• Lead the development and implementation of innovative banking solutions to enhance customer experience and operational efficiency.
• Spearhead large-scale digital transformation initiatives, particularly in branchless banking and other digital banking services.
• Foster a culture of innovation and digital adoption across the organization.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and liaise with regulatory bodies as necessary.
• Maintain a strong working relationship with the regulator to ensure the bank’s operations are fully compliant.
• Oversee all operational aspects of the bank, ensuring optimal performance and sustainability.
• Implement best practices in risk management, financial management, and operational efficiency.
• Engage with key stakeholders, including shareholders, board members, and customers, to drive organizational success.
• Represent the bank at industry forums and public engagements.
• Experience in Microfinancing or Digital banks would be ideal.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 15 years of experience in the banking industry, with significant exposure to retail banking.
• Proven experience in leading digital transformation projects, specifically in branchless banking.
• Prior experience in a CXO role (CEO, COO, CFO, etc.).
• Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent leadership and people management abilities.
• Thorough understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance.
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional qualification in finance or management will be an added advantage.
