Job Description

Join our team as a Call Center Executive specializing in medical billing, where you’ll play a crucial role in facilitating communication between healthcare providers, patients, and insurance companies. Your responsibilities include handling patient inquiries, verifying insurance details, explaining billing statements, establishing payment arrangements, and collaborating with internal teams to ensure accurate and timely claim processing.

Responsibilities:

  1. Patient Inquiries: Address incoming calls regarding medical billing, explanation of benefits (EOB), and billing statement clarification.
  2. Insurance Verification: Assist patients in verifying insurance information and eligibility for accurate billing and claim processing.
  3. Billing Explanation: Clearly explain billing statements, services rendered, and patient responsibilities with empathy.
  4. Payment Arrangements: Work with patients to establish suitable payment plans, addressing financial concerns.
  5. Follow-Up Calls: Conduct outbound calls for outstanding balances, reminding patients of payment due dates, and addressing concerns.
  6. Claims Resolution: Collaborate with insurance companies to resolve claim denials, coordinate resubmissions for accurate reimbursement.
  7. Coordination with Billing Team: Liaise with internal teams to address patient inquiries, resolve discrepancies, and provide information.
  8. Documentation: Maintain detailed records of patient interactions in the CRM system.
  9. Quality Assurance: Adhere to call handling quality standards, ensuring professionalism, accuracy, and privacy compliance.
  10. Education and Guidance: Provide information on assistance programs, financial counseling, and resources to navigate the billing process.
  11. Reporting: Generate reports on call center metrics, patient satisfaction, and key performance indicators.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in healthcare administration is a plus.
  • Proven call center experience, preferably in medical billing or healthcare.
  • Knowledge of medical billing processes, insurance terminology, and reimbursement procedures.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills with a patient-centric approach.
  • Familiarity with billing software and CRM systems.
  • Understanding of healthcare compliance regulations related to patient privacy and billing.
