Job Description

Job Title: Dishwasher

The dishwasher is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen area by washing dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and other equipment. They work as part of the kitchen team to ensure smooth and efficient operation during food preparation and service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Washing dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, pans, and cooking equipment using dishwashers or by hand.
• Ensuring all items are cleaned and sanitized according to established standards.
• Sorting and stacking clean dishes and returning them to their designated areas.
• Emptying trash bins regularly and disposing of waste properly.
• Maintaining cleanliness of kitchen surfaces, including counters, sinks, and floors.
• Assisting kitchen staff in food preparation tasks as needed.
• Adhering to safety and sanitation procedures at all times.
• Handling and storing cleaning products properly.
• Monitoring inventory of cleaning supplies and notifying management when supplies need replenishing.
• Following proper procedures for handling and storing kitchen equipment.
• Reporting any maintenance or repair needs to management.
• Cooperating and communicating effectively with other kitchen staff members.
• Maintaining a positive and professional attitude in a fast-paced environment.
• Following all company policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience in a similar role preferred but not required.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects.
• Basic understanding of sanitation principles and procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks.
• Effective communication skills.
• Willingness to learn and follow instructions.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
