Job Description

Provide technical support to all IT users and responsible for handling incoming incidents via phone and email, diagnosing and resolving technical issues, and ensuring a seamless support experience. This role requires excellent communication skills, a customer-centric approach, and a deep understanding of various hardware and software systems.

Key Responsibilities/Duties

  • Provide technical support over the phone and on premises to all IT users.
  • Handle incoming incidents promptly and effectively via phone and email.
  • Diagnose and resolve a wide range of technical issues over the phone.
  • Take ownership of calls and see them through to closure.
  • Escalate calls and issues to senior managers and team leaders when necessary.
  • Investigate and implement ways to reduce calls to the Help Desk.
  • Capture and enter all call details in the logging software.
  • Update support documentation as needed.
  • Answer and respond to all calls and requests within agreed time scales.
  • Keep customers updated on the progress of their reported issues.
  • Provide troubleshooting and configuration support for client desktops and networking environments.

Job Requirements

  • Good working knowledge of all levels of helpdesk support.
  • Excellent telephone manner and strong customer service skills.
  • Diplomatic management of customer expectations.
  • Experience in setting up and maintaining hardware and software systems.
  • Ability to work shifts, weekends, occasional overtime, and overnight when necessary.
  • Skill in listening to, understanding, and defusing difficult situations.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and operating systems.
  • Proficiency in Windows 2008 Advanced Server, Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2012R2, Windows Server 2016, Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 10.
  • Familiarity with VMWare ESXi, Firewall, and Draytek technologies.
  • Strong command of Microsoft applications.
