Job Description
Provide technical support to all IT users and responsible for handling incoming incidents via phone and email, diagnosing and resolving technical issues, and ensuring a seamless support experience. This role requires excellent communication skills, a customer-centric approach, and a deep understanding of various hardware and software systems.
Key Responsibilities/Duties
- Provide technical support over the phone and on premises to all IT users.
- Handle incoming incidents promptly and effectively via phone and email.
- Diagnose and resolve a wide range of technical issues over the phone.
- Take ownership of calls and see them through to closure.
- Escalate calls and issues to senior managers and team leaders when necessary.
- Investigate and implement ways to reduce calls to the Help Desk.
- Capture and enter all call details in the logging software.
- Update support documentation as needed.
- Answer and respond to all calls and requests within agreed time scales.
- Keep customers updated on the progress of their reported issues.
- Provide troubleshooting and configuration support for client desktops and networking environments.
Job Requirements
- Good working knowledge of all levels of helpdesk support.
- Excellent telephone manner and strong customer service skills.
- Diplomatic management of customer expectations.
- Experience in setting up and maintaining hardware and software systems.
- Ability to work shifts, weekends, occasional overtime, and overnight when necessary.
- Skill in listening to, understanding, and defusing difficult situations.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and operating systems.
- Proficiency in Windows 2008 Advanced Server, Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2012R2, Windows Server 2016, Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 10.
- Familiarity with VMWare ESXi, Firewall, and Draytek technologies.
- Strong command of Microsoft applications.
