Job Description
Support mainframe network communications environment including SNA, VTAM, TCP/IP, FTP, zOS Communication Server Components, Printing Services, and TN3270 Session Manager in 3-site, Parallel Sysplex environment.
Responsibilities:
- Day-to-day/project support of SNA/VTAM and TCP/IP configuration
- Administration of TN3270 configuration, including 3rd party tools
- Administration of 3rd party printing suite for clients and vendors
- Administration of IBM Connect:Direct configuration/netmap
- Configuration and use of Netview to manage mainframe network
- Develop, document and implement network standards, policies, procedures, and security practices
- Participate in routine BCP / DR exercises
- Work with z/OS Software, Hardware, Middleware, and development teams
Qualifications:
- Related experience: 10+ years managing mainframe network environments
- Experience with IBM Communication Server product suite, including VTAM and TCP/IP internals, SNA formats, and protocols
Additional Experience And Skills:
- Strong ability to troubleshoot and resolve system and network-related problems
- Understanding and support of enterprise encryption applications and processes
- Interpersonal skills, communications skills, and ability to lead and influence others are essential
- Ability to collaborate and work closely with others in a team environment
