Job Description
About the Job:
To maintain and ensure that all manufacturing plant equipment, and facilities are in optimal working order and to improve equipment reliability whilst adhering to safety protocols and regulations
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and provide guidance to the Supervisor Maintenance and Electrical Supervisor through regular meetings to evaluate existing maintenance strategies, ensuring the team adheres to all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols
- Support the Maintenance Manager in suggesting modifications to enhance equipment performance and provide justifications for the recommended changes
- Assist in developing and updating maintenance procedures and work standards for the plant and equipment to enhance performance / capacity
- Monitor mechanical plant and equipment performance by working with the SAP PM Specialist to track real-time performance data and categorize all mechanical equipment and plants to gain a comprehensive overview of all assets
- Assist in the development and execution of Planned Preventative Maintenance Schedules (PPM) set by the Maintenance Engineer, ensuring all safety protocols are followed and documenting all actions taken during the process
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and carry out repairs to all types of plant equipment in a safe, timely, and professional manner
- Conduct in-depth failure analyses of equipment for recording and documentation purposes
- Provide material and spare parts recommendations for all mechanical equipment and associated systems by creating spare parts lists and providing a list of materials required for each component of the planned maintenance programme
- Identify the specifications, brand, or type of equipment needed and accurately complete the requisition form for approval
- Follow up on the procurement of maintenance materials and ensure mechanical equipment is stored correctly, ensuring they are stocked and preserved in optimal condition
- Check the received equipment against the Purchase Order (PO) to ensure correctness in type, quantity, and quality
- Regularly report maintenance activities, challenges, spare parts usage, and unresolved issues to the Maintenance Manager
- Maintain accurate documentation of written process descriptions, work instructions, and procedures to serve as a source of information for Technicians
- Adhere to high standards of plant maintenance and ensure compliance with relevant health, safety, and environmental management systems
Minimum Qualifications and Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline with 3-5 years of experience
- Postgraduate degree in relevant discipline with 1-2 years of experience
