Job Description

Responsibilities:
- Check eligibility and benefit verification through calls and web portals.
- Prepare, review, and transmit claims using billing software, both electronically and through paper claim processing.
- Identify and bill secondary or tertiary insurances.
- Ensure accuracy of insurance payments and compliance with contract discounts.
- Handle payment posting (EOB/ERA).
- Review patient bills for completeness and accuracy, obtaining any missing information.
- Generate patient statements.
- Obtain necessary referrals and pre-authorization for procedures.
- Communicate with insurance companies to resolve payment discrepancies.
- Review all accounts for insurance or patient follow-up.
- Follow up on unpaid claims through insurance calls and web portals.
- Conduct research and appeal denied claims.
- Update billing software according to the fee schedule.
- Maintain cash spreadsheet and run collection reports.
- Respond to patient or insurance inquiries related to assigned accounts.
