Job Description

  • Coordinate with Pharmacists to ensure proper handover protocols are followed, and provide daily reports to Assistant Manager/ Manager Pharmacy Services.
  • Supervise the unit-dose drug dispensation and distribution, ensuring patients’ profiles and CPOE are reviewed to prevent drug interactions and to promote rational drug use. Contact the physician for inaccuracy of order / non-availability of medicine, providing the Clinical Pharmacist with relevant documentation.
  • Ensure requisitions are issued and filled accurately, and prompt delivery of unit-dose medications to the Nursing unit is provided.
  • Monitor and manage inventory stock levels, suggesting changes if necessary.
  • Prepare and forward requisitions to Pharmacy store as required.
  • Receive the goods from Pharmacy store, physically check and shelve the stock in proper location at specified temperature.
  • Provide current and accurate drug information to all healthcare professionals when required. Maintain records of drug information provided according to the specified protocols for record-keeping.
  • Provide monthly reports to Assistant/Manager Pharmacy/Clinical Pharmacist of all stock, detailing fast-moving/slow-moving/short expiry/expired/broken, damaged items.
  • Arrange inspection of nursing units and clinics each month and monitor the proper storage and distribution of patient floor stock, controlled drugs, and emergency medications.
  • Provide technical and administrative support, and conduct relevant trainings for staff.
  • Ensure high alert medications are labeled, and ensure all related precautions and information are provided for proper administration.
  • Prepare and present on various topics for CMEs.
  • Document and provide management (Pharmacist/AM/Manager) with details of all interventions, drug information, and related relevant information.
  • Ensure temperatures are monitored and all related documentation is accurately maintained.
  • Provide management with regular updates and monthly KPI reports.
