The Role:
We are currently seeking a highly motivated and energetic individual to join our team as a Procurement Officer. This role requires an analytical mind and the ability to stay up-to-date with product and service trends.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage inventory and maintain required stock levels
- Maintain and update supplier information such as product range, open purchase orders, and delivery times
- Generate reports using MRP & MS Excel
- Generate purchase orders using the MRP
- Follow up with suppliers for orders and payments
- Keep costs up to date in the MRP
- Respond to stock-related inquiries from other departments
- Record, tally, maintain and process invoices
- Manage company’s accounts payable and receivable
- Pay bills and invoices
- Track, maintain, and record expenses
- Sort and track overdue payments
- Maintain office culture
- Maintain good supplier relations and negotiate contracts
- Research and evaluate prospective suppliers
- Prepare budgets, analyze costs, and develop reports
- Handle additional responsibilities within and outside the department
Requirements:
- Minimum 16 years of education
- Degree in accounting, business management, or a similar field preferred
- 1 year of experience as a procurement officer or in a similar position
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and purchasing software
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Good analytical and strategic thinking skills
- Attention to detail
