Job Description
Shift timing: Evening
Location: Karachi
Job Description and Other Details:
- Develop and implement strategic procurement plans to ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of grocery related goods for stores/marts.
- Identify and evaluate suppliers, negotiate contracts, and establish long-term relationships to secure advantageous terms.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating pricing, terms, and delivery schedules.
- Monitor vendor performance, conduct regular assessments, and address any issues to ensure high-quality and on-time deliveries.
- Oversee inventory levels and make data-driven decisions to optimize stock levels across different stores.
- Analyze market trends and pricing to identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising product quality.
- Implement cost reduction strategies and monitor expenses to maximize profitability.
- Implement measures to ensure that products meet or exceed the expectations of the stores’ customers.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to maintain a competitive edge.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in a purchasing role (Grocery), with a focus on procuring goods for big stores or marts like Imtiaz, Chase, etc.
- Proven experience in negotiating contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to interpret market trends.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills for effective vendor and internal stakeholder management.
- Experience in purchasing for a retail or large-scale distribution environment.
- Certification in procurement or supply chain management.
- Proficiency in using MS Office and procurement software/tools.
