Job Description
Pak-Arab Refinery Limited (PARCO), an integrated energy conglomerate, is a Joint Venture between Pakistan and Emirate of Abu Dhabi. Pak-Arab Refinery Limited (PARCO) is seeking applications for the positions of Shift Engineer Process.
Qualifications and Competencies:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical / Petroleum Engineering from a HEC recognized university.
- Must be familiar with DCS.
- Should be a team player with excellent verbal and written communication and decision making skills.
- Good knowledge of computer software (MS Office) and SAP etc.
Experience:
- Up to 8 years of experience in Petroleum Refinery/ Petrochemical industry including Fertilizer.
- Experience of refinery process units (CDU/VDU – DHDS, PENEX/PSA, NHT/platforming – hydrocracking and sweetening units) is preferable.
- Experience of DCS (distributed control system), preferable YOKOGAWA centum – VP/ Honeywell Experion – PKS.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the shift team of Process Area & ensure safe and smooth operations and maintenance activities within the assigned process area.
- Execute production schedule, monitor and adjust operational parameters at designated process units.
- Handle and coordinate units’ start-up, shutdown and emergencies.
- Ensure safe handover of equipment and coordinate with Maintenance for safe execution of jobs.
- Implement management instructions.
- Observe/ monitor plant parameters through DCS to ensure that operating parameters of assigned units are in normal range.
- Interact with all services departments to maintain all the plant equipment in good and healthy condition.
- Check equipment & ensure for its safe and smooth operation. Ensure cleanliness and good housekeeping.
- Identify, analyze and solve operational problems including safety and environment issues.
- Coordinate with Shift Engineer Refinery (SER) if encounters any operational problem during the shift hours.
- Monitor process equipment performance and optimize chemicals consumption for improved efficiency, reliability & reduced emissions.
- Coordinate with Shift Engineers of other Process units, Utilities, Oil Movement and Maintenance.
