Job Description
About Us:
Now Software, a leading UK-based software house, is expanding its team in Islamabad. We’re on the lookout for a highly experienced Network and System Engineer to join our dynamic and innovative company.
Key Skills:
- Telecommunications and Networking Expertise:
- Proficient in SIP technology, with hands-on experience in Nextone/Genband and Digitalk platforms.
- Extensive knowledge in LAN IP switching, routing, BGP, and firewall management (SonicWall, iptables).
- In-depth expertise in VPN technologies, load balancers (Haproxy), and datacenter operations.
- Systems Administration and Virtualization:
- Skilled in administering Linux (Debian) and Windows systems, with a focus on virtualization using KVM/Qemu.
- Expertise in database management (MariaDB/Percona/Galera, Microsoft SQL Server) and web server administration (nginx, Apache, Microsoft IIS).
- Proficient in monitoring tools (Zabbix, SNMP), scripting (Bash shell, Perl, PHP), and Continuous Integration (Ansible, Puppet).
- Unified Communications and Development Skills:
- Desirable skills include SIP development (pjsip, kamailio, Asterisk) and PBX systems (Mitel, Nortel BCM, Asterisk).
- Programming proficiency in C, with experience in email (postfix) and XMPP server (Ejabberd).
- Security expertise, including risk assessment, penetration testing, and forensics. Good understanding of open-source applications (FreeSWITCH, Kamailio).
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a similar role with a focus on telecommunications, networking, systems administration, and development.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience.
