Job Description
We are seeking a skilled technical writer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating high-quality technical documentation, including user manuals, technical specifications, and other related materials. The ideal candidate must possess strong technical writing skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
Below are some of the responsibilities a technical writer is expected to assume:
- Work with internal teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of the product and the documentation requirements
- Produce high-quality documentation that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended audience
- Ensure projects are completed on time and meet quality standards
- Collaborate with fellow technical communicators to develop new approaches for creating more precise and engaging knowledge base documents for the company
Job Qualifications and Technical Skill Sets
Below are the qualifications expected of a technical writer:
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant technical field
- 2+ years of experience in technical writing or software documentation
- Proficiency in word processor programs such as Microsoft Word and Google Docs and PDF software such as Adobe Acrobat
- Familiarity with systems development life cycle (SDLC)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Professional & Creative Writing
- Fluency in English
- Healthy analytical and critical thinking skills
- Time management and organizational skills
- Experience with software documentation for web and mobile applications, APIs, and cloud-based services is a plus
Portfolio
We’re looking for a technical writer with a recent portfolio; please submit sample documents that have been published within the past years for consideration.
