Job Description
The role of the Cashier will primarily involve receiving and maintaining the cash register and related equipment.
Tasks & Accountabilities
- Opening the till and counting inventory at the start & end of each shift
- Notifying discrepancies (if found)
- Recording employee codes of registered employees
- Collecting money from walk-in customers
- Ensuring availability of change
- Preparing Daily Sales report
- Reconciling cash with daily Sales
- Depositing cash to the bank or handing over to Main cashier room
- Ensuring no sales on credit
- Keeping cash safe in case of unavailability of Bank & Sr. Cashier
- Raising demand for inventory as needed
- Assisting in training substitute cashiers
- Performing other duties as required
- Implementing SOPs of cashiering function
