Responsibilities:
- Develop and oversee the execution of construction plans, ensuring adherence to budget, schedule, quality standards, and safety regulations.
- Review project proposals or plans to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing the project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of the project.
- Confer with project staff to outline a work plan and to assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority.
- Direct and coordinate activities of project personnel to ensure the project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget.
- Inspect project sites to monitor progress and ensure conformance to design specifications and safety or sanitation standards.
- Investigate damage, accidents, or delays at construction sites to ensure that proper procedures are being carried out.
- Prepare reports on the progress of projects, inventory levels, costs, or performance data to keep management informed of project status.
- Plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate the daily operations of the construction department.
- Determine labor requirements and dispatch workers to construction sites.
- Resolve work problems and recommend measures to improve productivity.
- Requisition supplies, materials, and contractors/sub-contractors to complete construction projects.
- Select the type of construction equipment and machinery and determine the quantity and size needed to complete job assignments.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, or a related field.
- 15+ years of experience in construction management, with progressively increasing responsibility.
- Knowledgeable in software such as Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Primavera.
- Knows how to execute PERT/CPM for proper scheduling of units.
- Trainable to learn digital apps for construction reporting such as NOAH.
